Chelsea Transfer: Watch Eden Hazard agree with Chelsea Legend for Todd Boehly to Complete deal for Striker that will solve goal problem
The transfer window is long opened and clubs have been hunting the market for players in preparation for the coming football season. So far in the premier League Jürgen Klopp of Liverpool, Pep Guardiola of Manchester city, Mikel Arteta of Arsenal are among the clubs that has successfully added a player to their squad in the English League.
With Erling Haaland in City and Darwin Nunez joining the red side, Chelsea must act fast in the market to prepare the team ahead of the season that will kick start in August
One of the recurring themes of Chelsea’s past few seasons has been that of delayed player arrivals. Every year, it leads to the same excuse of lack of a proper preseason for the team and more importantly, the new players.
The latest of which was Romelu Lukaku, who has now secured a one-year loan move back to Inter Milan. After all, he proved he lacks the talent to play in the Premier League. Every terrible aspect of his game during his time at Manchester United was still present for the world to see. A manager cannot do much with a player that shows zero effort during 90 minutes, even if they put together a preseason.
The Belgium star believed Chelsea has not been given him good time by Thomas Tuchel and had to push for return move to his previous club and Italian champions, Inter Milan to join Olivier Giroud.
But Lukaku is definitely not the only player that will have to leave the club before the season start according to report.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly and manager Thomas Tuchel are ready to offload Hakim Ziyech after sending Romelu Lukaku out on loan.
Lukaku, who was the Blues’ record signing when he joined from Inter Milan in 2021, is set to return to his former club for the upcoming season. The Belgian was Chelsea’s top scorer across all competitions last season but notched only eight times in the Premier League after his £97.5m move.
Thomas Tuchel side will have to a good forward to balance up the team and will have to get a good defender to replace Antonio Rudiger that moved to Real Madrid recently.
According to Metro, Boehly and Tuchel are prepared to let Ziyech leave for the right price. The former Morocco star, who quit international football after a falling-out with boss Vahid Halihodzic, cost around £33m after impressing for Ajax in their run to the 2018-19 Champions League semi-finals.
Hakim Ziyech’s agents have already had direct talks with AC Milan board. Ziyech would be happy to join Milan having been told that Chelsea and Tuchel are open to let him go if right conditions are guaranteed, he has been on AC Milan list since long time and talks will continue soon.
Chelsea showed an interest in Raphinha but instead they are focusing on Raheem Sterling whilst Spurs first choice is Richarlison over Raphinha.
Chelsea is open to the sale of Hakim Ziyech and has meanwhile spoken to Raheem Sterling who he wants to bring to Chelsea as part of his new-look attack.
Apart from Raheem Sterling, Chelsea are prioritising two centre-backs and a full-back. Jules Kounde is their prime target while discussions have taken place with Juventus over a possible deal for Matthijs de Ligt. Chelsea also like Lens full-back Jonathan Clauss.
Sterling is entering the final year of his Manchester City contract and, at 27, is carefully considering what he believes is the defining stage of his career.
